GEORGE SMITH: GOD DID IT

September 2, 2018

I was introduced to Marijuana better known as herb. I started smoking back in 1979 the same year I graduated from West Pembroke Elementary school during the summer. I was easily I influenced and simply wanted to fit in. That next month I surrendered my life to Jesus and joined the Seventh Day Adventist Church. It was a sure roller coaster ride as I struggled trying to live a double life.

At 14 years old is when I started to drink beer and strong alcoholic beverages which took me deeper into the dark side. My life was slowly but surely becoming a wreck. All this was happening while my parents where somewhat oblivious as I was able to function with every day duties like going to school and church without missing a beat. At 15 I became diabetic type 1 insulin dependent, since which I found myself in 5 diabetic coma's with my life hanging in the balance.

Later on as the years went by, my life continued to go on the downward spiral. I wanted out but was trapped by those demons of addiction. In 1994 was when I took that turn for the worse when I tried my first crack cocaine joint. This was it for me I knew that if God didn't help me, my life would be over. I was broken as I watched my father, mother and family become broken as a result of my torn life.
