WALKING UP WEST

April 26, 2019

YouthVision Promotions is back on the move with plans to involve west end students in a march to heighten public awareness and promote the antisocial violence message in Bermuda.

According to the group’s Director, Desmond Crockwell, an estimated total of 500 students, faculty and staff members will be participating.

“Next week Friday May 3, Somerset Primary School, West End Primary School, Sandys Secondary Middle School and the TNTatem Middle School students located at Sandy’s Secondary Middle School will be collectively marching in Unity to promote the anti-violence message.

“The walk will start and finish at Sandy’s Secondary Middle School (we are in final talks with Somerset Cricket Club to see if we can finish up there).

“The purpose of the walk is to uitlise our young peoples voices to promote the anti-violence message. Every adult, every gangster, every convict was once a child and can respect the voice of the youth,” he added.

“We will continue to promote the message to ‘Live in Peace’.

‘Walking Up West – Unity in the Community’ is scheduled to start at noon on Friday, May 3 at Sandys Secondary Middle School to West End Primary then down to Somerset Primary to meet students there and return to either Sandys or Somerset Cricket Club for speeches and entertainment around 1pm.

Speakers include representatives of Open Your Heart Foundation, Antonio Belvedere, Lynwood ‘Brotha Richie’ Richardson and Mr Crockwell.
